THOMAS LANG’S AWARD-WINNING DRUM CAMP COMES BACK TO LOS ANGELES!
World famous drummer, educator and clinician Thomas Lang will host one of
his award-winning drum camps at the lush Palm Garden Hotel in Thousand Oaks, California between March 16th and 18th 2018.
Thomas Lang is one of the most respected drummers and educators worldwide.
He has had a 30-year career in the music industry as a drummer, recording artist, composer, producer and educator and will share his experience and advice with his students at the camp.
Lang has released a series of award-winning and best selling instructional drum method books and DVD’s and is considered one of the most technically proficient drummers in the world.
He has a wealth of information to share with his students and will provide campers with inspiration and practice material for years to come. There will be eye-opening technique lessons, and enlightening conversations on all aspects of the music industry and life as a professional drummer. Thomas will cover everything from intense technical workouts on the drum set to creative concepts, musicality, feel, expression and practice concepts and methods.
Each student will participate in the lessons with his own practice drum set provided by the host. Thomas will lead the class through lessons and exercises every day, playing with the students and breaking down all his concepts and ideas and explaining his approach to drumming in detail.
For 8 hours every day, Thomas will share his ideas and experience with a small group of students in a very intimate and comfortable setting. Thomas will answer all questions and demonstrate and teach his approach to practicing and playing.
He will cover hand and foot technique, groove playing, tempo memorization techniques, coordination and independence, soloing concepts, odd time signatures, fill concepts, developing the weak hand and the weak foot, speed and power building exercises for hands and feet, open-handed playing, groove independence, layers of rhythms, phrasing exercises and much more.
All practice pad kits and drum thrones will be provided.
Campers should bring their own double-pedals, and sticks.

Lesson times: 9 AM to 1 PM, and 2 PM to 6 PM every day for 3 days.
Daily lunch break from 1 PM to 2 PM
Campers also have the opportunity unity to attend a DW factory tour on Friday March 17th during lunch break. There will also be drum camp goodie bags for all students!

Uber also offers a more affordable alternative with rides to the airport for about $50. Feel free to bring along a traveling companion at no additional hotel charges. There are no camp charges for any guests who wish to casually observe limited camp activities. Individual instructors may reserve the right to limit spectators. Guests are welcome on the Drum Channel/DW Factory tour, however complementary transportation to and from the tours will be offered at priority to students.

~When will my payment be run? We will run your payment immediately. ALL payments are nonrefundable. Sorry -- there are absolutely no exceptions.
~What gear do I need & what is provided? Throne and practice kit are being provided.
~How do I get from the airport to the camp?
We strongly recommend contacting Roadrunner Shuttle (www.rrshuttle.com) to reserve a ride to the camp. You can share a shuttle with friends and save even more!
~Can I still come if I’m not a musician? YES! Come hang, explore and have fun! Hollywood & the Sunset Strip are 25 minutes away and you can be on the beach in Malibu in 20 minutes! The Camarillo Outlet Malls are just 10 minutes away -- and it’s only 90 minutes to Disneyland! More than half of our guests bring their families, spouses, etc., and enjoy a nice holiday in the California sunshine. We highly recommend you bring someone with you to enjoy the experience!
~What skill level is required to attend? Classes and curriculum are developed to accommodate all levels of playing.
~Is there an age requirement? No. Minors will be required to provide a consent form from a legal guardian.
-Do I need to be able to read music?
~Are meals included? Daily American breakfast is included in your package price as is free wifi and access to the hotel fitness room.
~If I want to bring my spouse but they don’t want to attend classes, can I? But of course! In order to bring a non-participant, you don’t need to pay a separate fee unless you need an extra hotel room. If you’re bringing the whole family, let us know and we can work with you to get you the best hotel rates!
~When is check in and when is check out? Let us know when you’re arriving. Most people arrive after 7:00 PM the day before (March 15th 2018) if they are staying in the hotel. But you need to be on site and set up -- ready to play by 8:00 AM on march 16th so plan accordingly.
~How do I get there?
If you are arriving at either LAX or Bob Hope International Airport and you are NOT renting a car, we suggest you book a shuttle to get to the Palm garden Hotel. Taxi rides from the airport are very expensive. www.rrshuttle.com
~Is there cell phone reception and wifi at camp?! There is cell phone reception and free wifi at the hotel.
~Can I take photos, video or audio recordings? Yes, take as many photos as you like! Video filming is also permitted but please make sure to make Thomas aware when you’re filming.
~What is the weather at camp? Weather in Southern California in the summer is SUNNY and very warm, you may want to bring a light jacket for the evenings.
~What do you suggest I bring with me? Camera, Clothes & Toiletries (toothbrush, soap, shampoo etc …),Band-Aids Swimwear, Writing utensils & Note Paper, Water bottle, Sunscreen.
